Michigan Pharmacy Technician Training Programs
The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs does not have any formal requirements for becoming a pharmacy technician. Although you do not need a license or certification to become a pharmacy technician, the Department recommends (and most employers prefer) both education and training in the field. According to the Department:
Pharmacy Technicians, who wish to earn the title of Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), may take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Some Pharmacy Technicians belong to the National Pharmacy Technician Association as well. Employers may see this as asset as well.
If you choose to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, a degree or training program can help you prepare for it. Fortunately, Michigan is home to dozens of schools that offer excellent certificate, associate, and even bachelor degree programs that can help you pass the test, become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), and make the short list of candidates for prime jobs and promotions.
